Born in Dover, New Hampshire, Maureen’s career began in the healthcare industry working with one of pioneers of Managed Care and learned then if you are going to do something do your best and deliver the best. After many years she had an opportunity to work for one of the country’s oldest shelters, the New Hampshire SPCA. She came on board when the vision of the shelter was to become a 10,000 Adoption and Learning Center and she managed the Annual Fund and two hundred volunteers for special events. She was impassioned to raise community awareness and be part of the solution to Adopt healthy, spayed or neutered animals.
In 2005, when she transitioned to North Carolina with her two kids, Nicholas and Anna, she followed her purpose and passion for helping people and began her career in Real Estate taking the North Carolina Real Estate course graduating highest in her class. After two weeks of becoming a licensed Realtor® she landed her first real estate deal and never looked back. She took an immediate interest in all types of transactions from first time home buyers to investors and commercial. With over Two-Hundred Million Sales there isn’t much she hasn’t encountered. She is the experience that provides you a very detailed and solid knowledge of the industry. Her common sense approach to real estate combined with her broad marketing abilities, strong negotiation and staying advanced on technology and social media has made her a leader in the industry. She prides herself in being a part of the community – she is involved with Friends of the Animals, Executive Woman of Lake Norman, the Lake Norman Chamber, William Amos Hough School, Bailey Middle School and Huntersville Elementary.
Maureen has an expanded family with her partner Albert Walker, her two kids Nicholas and Anna, Albert’s son Richard and step daughter Emily, her beloved orange tabby, Copper who is 21 and is nearing the end of his days, her four dogs, Lacy (Carolina Dingo/Chow), Lucy (Carolina Dingo/Chow, Tucker (Lab/German Shepherd) and Luna (Great Pyrenees). Dinner time is her favorite because it’s when the family comes together at the table, sits down and talks about their day over a great meal. It is common for her to whip up a complete Sunday dinner in the middle of the week for all to enjoy.
On her downtime, you will find that she loves to plan great family trips, and sometimes spur of the moment family fun like going to Lazy 5 Ranch, theater, Panther Games, the mountains, the beach or inviting friends over for a great home cooked meal – they say her gravy is the best.
